Our in-house Mercedes-Benz fleet incorporates a range of 3.5 tonne Sprinter vans and smaller vehicles, rigid box trucks from 7.5 tonnes up to 18 tonnes and 40ft articulated trucks.
Relay is the acknowledged industry leader in the UK for the storage, handling and distribution of high value technical equipment and our staff is highly experienced in all aspects of dealing with these specialist consignments and committed to providing the best possible customer service.
We have also made significant investments in IT, as well as forming an IT partnership with the leading logistics specialist Mandata, which puts us way ahead of the field in logistics management technology and provides us with an order tracking system that is second to none.
Relay completes over 500 deliveries and collections per day and we are experienced in handling many types of valuable and fragile equipment, frequently heavy and awkward.
Our vehicles are routinely double manned and we regularly employ extra staff to cover awkward sites and extra large rollouts.
Relay premises at Iver (head office), Buckinghamshire and Warrington, Cheshire are open 24 hours Monday to Friday and from 0600 to 2000 at Coatbridge in Lanarkshire. Saturday and Sunday openings at all depots are as required.
UK deliveries can be undertaken within 24 hours, either same day or next day, except to remote areas.
Relay can assign an experienced account manager to personally handle day-to-day customer liaison. Systems and IT resources we have in place ensure that any member of the team is fully briefed in the absence of the key account handler.
Relay provides FTA goods in transit insurance as standard. ‘All Risks’ goods in transit insurance can be provided if required. Relay has comprehensive insurance cover in place for Employers Liability and Public / Products liability.
We undertake deliveries to the Isle of Man and other main UK offshore islands through trusted third party contractors or on Relay dedicated vehicles.
Relay was the first UK logistics company to be accredited to ISO 9001:2000 and has been fully accredited with international ISO standards since 1994. Relay aims to achieve 98% perfect deliveries for all its customers.
The Relay system is extremely flexible and access can be allocated to conform to customer requirements. For example, it is possible to separate the functions of job booking and vehicle tracking so that shipments can be monitored by personnel not responsible for placing orders.
