When KYOCERA Document Solutions achieved Green IT Magazine’s 2012 Award for “Environmental Project of the Year over 100 Employees” for its managed document services on behalf of RSA Insurance, Relay’s expert logistics support was acknowledged as critical.

This nationwide exercise involved a major rationalisation of RSA’s print resources, replacing some 3,000 old printers with just over 300 leading edge KYOCERA MFPs (Multi Functional Printers), part of a drive to reduce the company’s print costs over five years from £7.5 million to £2.5 million.

The RSA project, known as SPEC (Simplifying Print through Enhancement and Consolidation), involved delivery to 18 sites across the UK, including the RSA UK Head Office at Horsham and branches in Central London, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and other major centres.

To maximise the efficiency of the logistical operation, KYOCERA and Relay planned the operation together closely for four months before the first machine was moved.

Accenture was appointed by RSA to manage the total project and Accenture’s Sivaraja Sivanesan specifically recognised the part played in the logistics effort. “The quality of project services at KYOCERA was very high from the engineers, logistics team and project management,” he said.
